ITINERARY
DAY 1: Welcome – Lima
WELCOME TO LIMA
Upon your arrival at Lima’s international airport, one of our representatives will be waiting for you with a personalized Peru VIP Travel sign bearing your name. You will be greeted with a warm smile and comfortably transferred to your hotel near the airport. We will take care of your check-in and assist you in settling in so you can fully relax after your flight. This first night is designed for you to recharge and begin your journey with the rest you deserve.
DAY 2: Larco Museum
HALF-DAY CITY TOUR OR URBAN CULINARY ROUTE
Option 1: Into the Past One of Lima’s greatest attractions is its extraordinary concentration of ancient history. Not only does the city’s origin date back thousands of years before the Spanish foundation, but its museums also safeguard magnificent artistic treasures from pre-Columbian civilizations that once flourished in the coastal deserts of Peru. You’ll begin to uncover this rich and multifaceted history with a visit to an ancient adobe pyramid located right in the heart of the city: Huaca Huallamarca. The journey continues at the renowned Larco Museum, followed by the historic Plaza de Armas — surrounded by imposing baroque-style buildings — and culminates at the Aliaga House, the oldest colonial mansion in Lima, inhabited by the same family since the 16th century.
Option 2: Into the Past & Urban Culinary Route Beyond its impressive historical legacy, Lima has emerged in recent decades as one of the world’s great gastronomic capitals. This tour combines the best of both worlds: the exploration of its past and the tasting of its vibrant culinary present. After visiting Huaca Huallamarca, the Larco Museum, the Plaza de Armas, and the Aliaga House, you’ll dive into Lima’s food scene. You’ll explore a local market bursting with fresh produce, traditional bodegas, and iconic restaurants, where you’ll savor flavors that reflect the astonishing geographical, cultural, and ethnic diversity of Peru. This culinary journey offers an intimate look at the ingredients, techniques, and stories that have made Lima the gastronomic capital of the Americas.
DAY 3: Cusco – Sacred Valley
LIMA – CUSCO – VALLE SAGRADO
Private transfer from your hotel in Lima to the airport to board your domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, your journey through the stunning Urubamba Valley—known as the “Sacred Valley”—will begin. This is an essential stop on any journey through Peru.
On the way to your hotel, you’ll visit Pisac, one of the most impressive archaeological complexes in the valley, renowned for its exceptional stonework, beautiful terraces, and breathtaking panoramic views.
After exploring the ruins, you’ll dive into the vibrant atmosphere of the traditional Pisac market, where you can find a wide variety of local handicrafts as well as fresh fruits and vegetables.
If you wish, you may choose to enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at the charming local restaurant Pisac Inn, before continuing on to your hotel for some well-deserved rest.
Today, you will visit the extraordinary town of Ollantaytambo and its impressive archaeological complex. This unique site preserves the original urban layout from Inca times, where current residents still live in the traditional enclosures known as canchas, once inhabited by the Inca elite.
The Ollantaytambo archaeological site is a true visual spectacle, rich in historical significance—it was the scene of one of the most important battles of the conquest, and one of the few places where the Incas managed to defeat the Spanish forces.
After the visit, you will head to the charming Hacienda Huayoccari, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Peruvian lunch in a countryside setting filled with history and art.
In the afternoon, your journey continues to the legendary Maras Salt Mines, a dazzling landscape formed by thousands of salt pools, and to the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray, ancient agricultural structures used by the Incas for crop experimentation. At the end of the day, you’ll return to your hotel to rest.
DAY 5: Machupicchu
MACHU PICCHU – HIRAM BINGHAM LUXURY TRAIN
For those seeking the highest level of luxury, a journey aboard the Hiram Bingham train—operated by the prestigious Orient-Express group—is simply a must. Departing from Poroy Station, this exclusive train offers impeccable, refined service, with an attentive onboard team dedicated to meeting your every need, ensuring an unforgettably comfortable and luxurious experience. As you descend into the Sacred Valley, you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch on board, surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes, fertile farmlands, and picturesque traditional villages.
Once face to face with Machu Picchu, only one word will come to mind: “Magnificent.” These awe-inspiring ruins, hidden for centuries and rediscovered just over a hundred years ago by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham in collaboration with the National Geographic Society, rise from a mountain ridge at 2,430 meters (7,972 feet) above sea level. Machu Picchu is believed to have been a strategic Inca settlement used to control regional economies and also served as the royal estate of the great emperor Pachacuti, who led the empire’s expansion.
You’ll enjoy a guided tour lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours, followed by free time to explore the citadel at your own pace and take in its mystical atmosphere at sunset, when most visitors have already left.
Alternative Option: For groups of up to 8 people, we recommend the elegant Inca Princess service—an exclusive, private option that also guarantees an intimate and personalized experience on your journey to Machu Picchu.
DAY 6: Huaynapicchu
SECOND DAY AT MACHU PICCHU – VISTADOME TRAIN
This morning, you’ll return to the citadel of Machu Picchu for a day full of adventure and exploration. You can choose from a variety of hikes tailored to different durations and physical effort levels. Highlights include the trek to Inti Punku (the Sun Gate), the ancient ceremonial entrance to the sanctuary; the challenging climb to Huayna Picchu, the iconic peak that towers above the citadel; or the ascent to Machu Picchu Mountain, located to the south, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the archaeological site and the surrounding valley.
After your exploration, you’ll take a bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you’ll board the Vistadome train for a scenic journey of approximately 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo. There, a private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco—a drive of about 2 hours.
DAY 7 : City Tour Cusco
CUSCO CITY TOUR – LUNCH AT PALACIO MANCO CÁPAC
From the historic Plaza de Armas, you’ll begin a walking tour that showcases the fascinating juxtaposition between solid Inca stonework and elegant Spanish colonial architecture. You’ll explore Cusco’s main highlights, including the impressive Cusco Cathedral and the legendary Koricancha temple, as well as artisan markets, charming art galleries, exclusive boutiques, museums, and lesser-known churches that hold centuries of history.
After the city stroll, you’ll visit Sacsayhuamán, the majestic archaeological complex renowned for its stunning megalithic architecture—one of the most astonishing examples of Inca engineering and design.
You’ll end your morning with a delicious BBQ lunch at the elegant Palacio Manco Cápac, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city of Cusco. (Please note: this venue is unavailable during the rainy season, from November to March, and will be replaced by a suitable restaurant alternative.)
