ITINERARY

DAY 1 – Wednesday

Welcome to Iquitos !

After arriving at the airport, our team will welcome you to the city of Iquitos and take you to the Embarcadero Turistico to board the four-day Amazon Cruise.

On the third deck, you will meet the captain and crew with a drink from the bartender before receiving a safety briefing and touring the facilities. You will enjoy a unique gastronomic experience with a menu prepared by our Chef with ingredients from the Amazonian larder.

In the afternoon, you will visit the native Kukama community to learn about their customs and enjoy music and dances. Back on the cruise, there will be a cocktail demonstration class to learn how to make Pisco Sour and other drinks with local ingredients. The day will end with an exquisite dinner.

Day 2 – Thursday

Rio Amazonas – Isla de los Monos – Comunidad Nativa Yagua

After breakfast, we will head by dinghy to the Monkey Island animal rescue center, where we will find a variety of species of monkeys that have been rescued and rehabilitated. We will have the opportunity to interact with them, learn about their rescue and rehabilitation, and take pictures. Afterwards, we will return to the cruise ship to enjoy the delicacies prepared by the Chef.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Yagua native community, where we will learn about their culture and participate in activities such as the launching of the pucuna and a reforestation ceremony. On the way back to the cruise ship, we will enjoy a cooking class with the Chef.

In the evening, the local shaman will visit us to share his knowledge about medicinal plants and Amazonian spirituality.

Day 3 – Friday

Comunidad Nativa Yagua – Mariposario San Rafael – Iquitos

The day will start early with an exciting boat expedition to witness the sunrise in the jungle.

Afterwards, we will explore the charming town of Indiana and its lively market, where we can enjoy exotic fruits and learn about the catch of the day.

Back on the cruise ship, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading to Morphosapi, a butterfly farm in the community of San Rafael, where we will learn about the conservation of the different species of butterflies and have the opportunity to release some to promote pollination. After a full lunch on board, we will sail to the Nanay River, where we will enjoy a relaxing time while watching the beautiful sunset over the waters of the Momon River from the dinghy.

In the evening, we will gather on the third deck for a memorable farewell toast.

Day 4 – Saturday

Iquitos – Centro de Rescate de Manatíes – Traslado al Aeropuerto

After an early breakfast and getting ready, we will check out and head to the Embarcadero Turistico for disembarkation. There, a bus will be waiting for us to take us to the Manatee Rescue Center, where we will be able to witness the feeding of baby manatees and interact with the rehabilitated ones.

This will be a perfect farewell to Iquitos. Afterwards, we will head to the airport, where our staff will assist you until you have boarded your flight back to Lima. It is important to note that itineraries may vary due to factors such as weather or the migratory cycle of the animals. Therefore, the route, schedules and excursions may be modified at the discretion of the Captain or Guide.

The visit to the native communities is an opportunity to contribute to their development by purchasing local handicrafts. Although there is no commitment, it is recommended to bring cash if you wish to purchase a souvenir or gift.
