ITINERARY

DAY 1: Welcome

Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel, JW Marriott features luxurious accommodation with Pacific Ocean view, a spa and an outdoor swimming pool. Situated in Miraflores district with seafront location and next to Larcomar Shopping Mall.

The modern and spacious rooms at JW Marriott Hotel Lima are air-conditioned and equipped with LCD TV, a seating area and a coffee machine. Additional services include Wi-Fi connection. Dining options include La Vista Restaurant that serves local and international cuisine. A mix of Peruvian and Asian fusion is prepared in JW Sushi Ceviche Lounge. Room service is also available.

It is situated 16 km from Jorge Chávez International Airport. The beaches of Costa Verde are within 8 minutes’ away by car, as well as Huaca Pucllana.

DAY 2: Lima Gourmet tour

Explore the superfoods of Peru with a unique Lima food tour.  Follow your guide to a fruit market and coffee roaster.  Learn how to make ceviche and pisco cocktails. Relax over a Gourmet Lunch with views over Pre-Incan Ruins.

DAY 3: Flight to Iquitos

FLIGHT TO IQUITOS

This morning an approx. 8 a.m. pick up for your approximate 45 minutes private Transfer to your Lima Airport. Fly Lima to Iquitos to Start your Unforgettable Luxury Amazon Cruise

We will meet at Iquitos International Airport then journey together by air-conditioned vehicle through the Peruvian countryside to arrive at our Nauta Lounge in time for lunch, or we will serve a box lunch en route depending on the flight arrival time. In the afternoon, we will set off on your first skiff excursion along the Marañon River. At 6:00 pm, we will board the ARIA AMAZON. Settle into your generously proportioned suite as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures. Following a routine safety drill and introduction to our naturalist guides, we gather for innovative Amazonian cuisine created by our Executive Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, whose restaurant, Malabar, is one of Lima’s top-ranked dining experiences.

DAY 4: Marañon River

MARAÑON RIVER

We commence today’s adventures near the main entrance of Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, cruising along Yanayacu Pucate in the comfort of our state-of-the-art skiffs. Kayak, canoe and swim in these unspoiled black waters, keeping eyes peeled for Amazon’s legendary pink dolphins. In the afternoon, we will visit a remote village along the Marañon River to learn about traditional customs. Focus our hi-tech telescope on the night sky to identify the planets and constellations.

DAY 5: Samiria River

SAMIRIA RIVER

We set off by skiffs for an excursion along the Samiria River with optional fishing. Listen carefully to our after-lunch flora and fauna lecture, then venture out for a singularly thrilling jungle walk across the high Amazon rainforest. On our return in the evening, enjoy the jungle symphony and extraordinary stargazing on local boats along the “Enchanted Lake”. This evening before dinner, we will gather to introduce you to some of the crew members whom you may not have met, working “behind the scenes” to ensure your countless exceptional experiences aboard the ARIA AMAZON.

DAY 6: Manatee Rescue 

MANATEE RESCUE

Transfer To The AirportThis morning, we will visit the local fresh market with your guides who can identify the day’s catch by the fishermen of Amazonia and the region’s exotic fruits. Return to the ARIA for breakfast and to pack up. Before saying goodbye, we visit the Manatee Rescue Center, a kind of animal orphanage for Amazonian manatees to rescue, rehabilitate and release them back into the wild. We will also visit the San Juan craft market on route to the airport. Lunch or box lunch will be provided, depending on the exact departure flight time, which may vary. Other local activities may be included as well, according to our recommended flight schedule.

DAY 7: Explore Cusco City

EXPLORE CUSCO CITY

We will pick up you from your Hotel for an approx. 4 Hour Private Tour of the Principal Inca and Colonial attractions of Cusco:

Tambomachay – This was an Inca sanctuary dedicated to the cult of water for Royalty.

Puca Pucara – This is an Inca archaeological site located is thought to be a military position and an administrative centre.

Qenko – A sanctuary dedicated to the adoration of animals, and consists of ruins formed by a rocky site with stairs in a zigzag.

Sacsayhuamán – Its construction took over seven decades and required the work of 20,000 men, both for the foundations and hewn stone works, the transportation of materials, carving and stones setting.

Cusco Cathedral – One of the finest Colonial Cathedrals in the Americas. 

Coricancha – Originally named Inti Qancha (‘ Temple of the Sun’) was the most important temple in the Inca Empire, dedicated primarily to Inti, the Sun God.

DAY 8: Sacred Valley

SACRED VALLEY

Today we will travel at 9:00 am to the mystical “Sacred Valley of the Incas” to discover thearchaeological center of Pisac, then we will descend to the town to visit the traditional market, wherewe will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of the artisans; Then we will have a deliciouslunch in Urubamba with all the local supplies of the sacred valley to continue with encouragementtowards the fortress of Ollantaytambo, a place built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the indigenous peoples of the Jungle. We take a walk through thestreets of the town that have preserved the traces of the old military, religious and cultural center, fromthe time of the Inca empire.

DAY 9: Hiram Bingham Train

The Luxury Hiram Bingham Train is an exclusive service where you will enjoy a full day of unforgettable experiences.

At the back of the Hiram Bingham is the Observation car, offering a space in which to truly appreciate the stunning Peruvian landscape.  Observations cars are a great addition to any train and this one is furnished with dark wood, polished brass and large cushioned seats, thus making it the perfect place to sit, relax and watch the unfolding Peruvian landscape.

DAY 10: Machupichu

MACHUPICCHU

Today you will enjoy further Private Guided Tours of Machu Picchu.  You may start at Dawn or as you wish.  All tours are included and you are only limited by your time and energy. Choose one.

The Sun Gate (2 Hours) – The Sun Gate marks the entrance to Machu Picchu.  climbing more than 300 meters.  The hike is on the original Inca trail and is paved with Inca stones. 

Machu Picchu Mountain (4 to 5 Hours Roundtrip) –   This is a breathtaking hike.

Inka Bridge (Bridge 1 Hour Round Trip)This hike is to the south-west of Machu Picchu, a nice original trail that overlooks the Aobamba valley and the Hydro-electric plant. 

Huayna Picchu (3 – 4 Hours) – Hike The mountain is steep, but stone steps are laid along Very Limited Access! Only 400 people are allowed each day.  8:00am – 10:00am.

After visiting Machu Picchu, and using a lot of your energy how nice it is to enjoy a lovely varied buffet Lunch at Sanctuary Lodge Tinkuy Restaurant. Located inside the prestigious Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. The restaurant offers a very pleasant environment to relax and enjoy a tasty lunch, characterized by its wide variety of international and Peruvian dishes, Finally you take the Vistadome train to comeback to Cusco, It includes service has large panoramic windows and additional windows in the roof allowing you to enjoy the mountain scenery.
