ARRIVAL IN CUSCO – DISCOVERING THE IMPERIAL CITY

Upon your arrival at Cusco International Airport, our team at Peru VIP Travel will give you a warm welcome and accompany you on your transfer to your hotel located in the city’s historic center.

During the ride, you’ll enjoy a first glimpse of Cusco, a city where the remnants of the Inca Empire and colonial architecture coexist in perfect harmony. Upon arrival at the hotel, you’ll be greeted with a traditional cup of coca tea, which is ideal for helping you acclimate to the altitude.

In the afternoon, we’ll begin exploring the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. We’ll visit the Plaza de Armas, the majestic Cathedral, and the historic Qoricancha—known as the Temple of the Sun—a site where the precision of Inca architecture blends with colonial heritage.

We’ll continue to the outskirts of the city to discover Q’enqo and the impressive ceremonial fortress of Sacsayhuamán, renowned for its enormous, perfectly fitted stone blocks and spectacular panoramic views of Cusco.

At the end of the tour, you’ll have free time to enjoy the city’s charm: its cobblestone streets, artisan markets, colonial balconies, and the cultural richness that fills every corner of Cusco with color.

CUSCO – MARAS SALT MINES, MORAY & CHINCHERO – CUSCO

After breakfast, we’ll set out on a day dedicated to discovering some of the most iconic treasures of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where history, nature, and ancestral traditions come together in unique landscapes.

Our first stop will be the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive complex of thousands of salt pools nestled on the mountainside. This ancient system, used since pre-Inca times, continues to be operated by local communities, preserving a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.

We’ll continue on to Moray, a fascinating complex of circular terraces considered an Inca agricultural laboratory. Its design demonstrates the Incas’ advanced knowledge of studying crops and adapting them to different climatic conditions.

We’ll conclude the experience in Chinchero, an Andean village renowned for its cultural richness and traditional textile art. Here, we’ll learn about the ancestral weaving and natural dyeing techniques that keep the identity of the local communities alive.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to Cusco with memories of an experience that combines the landscapes of the Sacred Valley, Inca heritage, and living Andean culture.

CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – CUSCO

After breakfast, we’ll set out on our tour to the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region of extraordinary landscapes and a rich historical legacy.

Our first stop will be at the Taray viewpoint, where we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the valley, surrounded by mountains, farmlands, and Andean communities that preserve their ancestral traditions.

We’ll continue on to Pisac, where we’ll explore its impressive agricultural terraces and Inca ruins adapted to the mountain terrain. Then we’ll visit its traditional artisan market, renowned for its textiles, ceramics, and pieces crafted by talented local artisans.

We’ll enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba, featuring fresh ingredients from the Sacred Valley, before continuing on to Ollantaytambo, one of the most important archaeological sites of the ancient Inca Empire.

We’ll explore its terraces, temples, and traditional streets, discovering the significance of this ancient ceremonial, agricultural, and strategic center that still preserves the essence of Inca culture.

Finally, we’ll return to Cusco, enjoying the Andean landscapes and taking with us an experience rich in history, tradition, and natural beauty.

CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO | WONDER OF THE INCA WORLD

After breakfast, we’ll begin one of the most anticipated experiences of the trip: a visit to Machu Picchu, the legendary Inca citadel and one of the wonders of the world.

We’ll head to the train station (San Pedro, Poroy, or Ollantaytambo) to board the train bound for Aguas Calientes. During the journey, we’ll enjoy spectacular scenery—green mountains, lush vegetation, and the Urubamba River—as we make our way toward the edge of the Andean jungle.

Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting for us to begin the bus ride up to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Along the way, we’ll take in breathtaking views of the Urubamba River Canyon and the mountains surrounding this ancient city.

Upon entering the citadel, we’ll take a guided tour lasting approximately two hours, exploring its main areas such as the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Condor, ceremonial plazas, and agricultural terraces. We’ll learn about the history, architecture, and mysteries that make this place a truly unique destination in the world.

After the visit, you’ll have free time to take in the scenery, take photos, and enjoy the special energy of this ancient sanctuary.

Afterward, we’ll head down to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch (not included) before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our representative will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

CUSCO – VINICUNCA, THE MOUNTAIN OF COLORS – CUSCO

Very early in the morning, we’ll set out on our adventure to Vinicunca, known as the Mountain of Colors, one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the Vilcanota Mountain Range.

On the way to Cusipata, we’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Andes, farmlands, and traditional communities that preserve the essence of Andean life. After breakfast, we’ll continue to the starting point of the hike.

The trail will take us through landscapes of great beauty, where we’ll see llamas, alpacas, and local shepherds in their colorful traditional attire. In the distance, the imposing snow-capped Ausangate will accompany us on our journey until we reach the summit.

Upon reaching the Mountain of Colors, we’ll enjoy a unique setting formed by natural hues that contrast with the majesty of the Andes. We’ll have time to take in the scenery, take photos, and experience an unforgettable moment at one of Peru’s most iconic destinations.

After the visit, we’ll return to the starting point to enjoy lunch before heading back to Cusco.

At the agreed-upon time, our team will transfer you to the Cusco airport to assist you with your departure and see you off, bringing to a close an unforgettable experience filled with the landscapes, culture, and ancestral legacy of the Andes.
