DAY 9: Galapagos Islands

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

Punta Vicente Roca (Isabela Island): Explore this bay rich in marine life, home to seahorses, sea turtles and sunfish. Isabela Island, the largest of the archipelago and one of the youngest, stands out for its intense volcanic activity.

Punta Espinosa (Fernandina Island): One of the most virgin islands, with no invasive species. Visit the youngest island of Galapagos, dominated by the volcano “La Cumbra” and its extensive lava. Explore a colony of marine iguanas, sea lions and the nesting site of the flightless cormorant, and have the opportunity to observe the Galapagos hawk.

Crossing the Bolivar Channel that divides Isabela and Fernandina Islands, we will disembark at Punta Espinosa. After walking past a colony of marine iguanas and a group of sea lions, we will arrive at the most striking point of the island: the nesting site of the flightless cormorant. This area also offers a great opportunity to see the Galapagos hawk.

DAY 10: Galapagos Islands

ISABELA ISLAND

Tagus Cove Cliff (Isabela Island): Discover Tagus Cove Cliff, where pirate graffiti from 1836 contrasts with the natural surroundings. Take a 2 km hike through lava formations to Darwin Lake, a saltwater crater possibly originating from a volcanic eruption.

Urbina Bay: Explore Urbina Bay, formed by a sea rise in 1954 that created a terrestrial coral reef. Observe rays, sea turtles, cormorants and pelicans, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Alcedo Volcano.

Get ready for unforgettable experiences in the wonderful nature of Galapagos!

DAY 11: Galapagos Islands

ISABELA ISLAND

Elizabeth Bay (Isabela Island): Explore secluded Elizabeth Bay in a traditional “panga”. Stroll among red mangroves and observe the rich marine life, including turtles, rays, pelicans, Galapagos penguins, blue-footed boobies and the occasional humpback whale.

Moreno Point: In the afternoon, visit Moreno Point, southwest of Elizabeth Bay. Make a dry landing in a volcanic terrain with natural pools of crystal clear water. Observe pink flamingos, choker ducks, coots, white-tipped reef sharks and sea turtles in the brackish water pools.

Get ready for unforgettable experiences as you immerse yourself in the natural and historical richness of the Galapagos Islands!

DAY 12: Galapagos Islands

ISABELA ISLAND

Charles Darwin Research Station (Santa Cruz Island): Visit the “Fausto Llerena” breeding center at the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you can see turtles of various ages, from 3-inch hatchlings to 4-foot adults. See how the turtles interact with visitors and learn about the successful conservation efforts underway.

Santa Cruz Highlands: In the highlands of Santa Cruz, explore trails surrounded by hills, ferns and volcanoes. Admire giant tortoises and other endemic species, and hike through subway lava tubes more than a kilometer long, with information and flashlights provided by local guides.

DAY 13: Galapagos Islands

SOUTH PLAZA & SANTA FE ISLAND

South Plaza: In the morning, we will visit South Plaza Island, known for its lava cliffs and characteristic opuntia cactus vegetation. The island is home to one of the largest colonies of sea lions and colorful land iguanas in shades of yellow and red. The Sesuvium plant changes from green to bright red depending on the season.

Santa Fe Island: In the afternoon, we will explore Santa Fe Island, formed by a volcanic uplift. Enjoy its picturesque bay and choose between two trails: one that leads to a lookout point on a cliff and another that crosses a prickly pear cactus forest from a small beach.

DAY 14: Galapagos

SPANISH ISLAND

Punta Suarez: Española Island, the southernmost island of the Galapagos, is the main breeding site of the Galapagos albatross. At Punta Suarez, we will observe blue-footed boobies, albatrosses and Nazca boobies. The area is noted for its impressive geyser and the panoramic view from the cliff, ideal for photography. The island is also home to dense populations of mockingbirds, masked boobies, Darwin’s finches, Galapagos doves, hawks, and red and green marine iguanas, as well as sea lions.

Gardner Bay & Osborn Islet: On the eastern side of Española Island, Gardner Bay is home to nearly 12,000 Galapagos albatrosses. The white sand beach is perfect for relaxing and watching sea lions, while the rocky shores offer excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities.

Be prepared to take unforgettable memories of your Galapagos adventure with you!

DIA 15: Galápagos – Guayaquil

SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND – FLIGHT TO ECUADOR – INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE

In the morning we will visit the Interpretation Center or Galapaguera on San Cristobal Island.
The Interpretation Center is located on the island of San Cristobal. The center was donated by the Spanish government and inaugurated by the Prince of Spain in 1998. This center focuses on the interaction between humans and the “natural history cabinet” process, demonstrating that a harmonious relationship between humans and nature is possible.
The Galapaguera Cerro Colorado is a new visitor site on the southeastern part of San Cristobal Island and can now be reached in about an hour by road from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. It is possible to see birds such as finches, warblers, and nightingales in the trees and bushes surrounding the site. On the trails you can observe giant tortoises that live there in a wild but protected way that ensures their survival from introduced predators such as pigs and goats. Once the tortoise senses danger it goes into a defensive posture, taking refuge in its hard shell.

Transfer to the airport, please note that on the day of your departure, your visit will be early and short in order to arrive at the airport in time. After the visit you will be transferred to the San Cristobal airport for your flight back to the mainland.

Upon arrival in mainland Ecuador a representative of Peru VIP Travel will be waiting for you to assist you with check in procedures for your international flight.
