TRIP OVERVIEW

This program allows us to discover the route of the Andes; Everyone’s favorite destinations, starting from Lima, we continue Arequipa arriving at the city at the foot of the volcanoes, we see the flight of the condor in one of the deepest canyons in the world, then we visit the islands of the mystical Lake Titicaca, to finally discover the city imperial of the Incas and fill yourself with energy in Machupicchu!

DAY 1: Welcome

ARRIVAL IN LIMA (79M):

We welcome you when you arrive at the international airport of Lima, the reception is in charge of our staff for your transfer to the Hotel and in the afternoon you will have free time to rest and prepare for the next adventures in the two most famous regions of Peru.

DAY 2: City Tour Lima

LIMA CITY TOUR (79M) & MAGICAL WATER CIRCUIT

After breakfast we are ready to tour the city of kings, a great metropolis full of history and cultural heritage.

We will observe the Paseo de la Republica, the famous Plaza San Martin, the government palace, enter the convent of San Francisco, a great architectural work built in the seventeenth century, culminating with a tour of the catacombs, the main cemetery of the colonial era.

At the end of the city tour you will have part of the afternoon free for lunch and from there we will make a connection to visit the famous magic circuit of the waters, a majestic park that has 13 cybernetic fountains, where water, music and an impressive set of laser lights are mixed providing a wonderful spectacle worthy of being admired.

Finally you will be transferred back to your hotel.

DAY 3: City Tour Arequipa

FLIGHT LIMA/AREQUIPA (2,335M)-CITY TOUR AREQUIPA:

More adventures, we board our flight to the white city, welcome to Arequipa! Upon arrival, you will be assisted at the airport by our representatives and then, you will be transferred to your hotel.

At the appointed time, we will start our tour in the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by the most representative buildings of the city. Then, we will visit the Church of La Compañía de Jesús, an important testimony of religious architecture and the use of ashlar for its construction.

We will continue through the typical district of Yanahuara, where we will visit its famous viewpoint, from where we will have an impressive view of the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes and, from the city of Arequipa itself. From here, you will be able to take amazing pictures! We will go to the Monastery of Santa Catalina, which was founded in 1580 where we will appreciate: the cloisters, its picturesque streets and squares, which have remained intact over time. In addition, we will learn about the lifestyle of the nuns who lived there.

DAY 4: Colca Canyon

AREQUIPA-COLCA-CANYON-CHIVAY (3,635M)

After breakfast, our tour starts early in the morning and we will go to the Colca Canyon, the journey crosses the slopes of the Chachani, crossing the national reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca populated by wild vicunas and dotted with shepherd villages this place has a Magnificent panorama of huge snow-capped volcanoes such as Ampato (6,400M) and Huallca Huallca (6,025M) We will pass through the “Mirador de los Volcanes” to (4,800M) to reach Chivay; We will have the rest of the afternoon free to enjoy the facilities offered by the hotel or take the optional visit to the hot springs of La Calera.

DAY 5: Flight of the Condor

FLIGHT OF THE CONDOR-CHIVAY/PUNO (3,827M)

This will be a magnificent day, very early in the morning we will go to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor, where you can usually observe the largest flying birds in the world, the condors that with their majestic flight will give us an unforgettable spectacle.

This place also offers us a magnificent view of the Canyon that in the morning hours looks spectacular when the first rays of the morning sun paint this beautiful valley.

Continuing on our way, on the way we can enjoy unbeatable views of the snowy area, beautiful and unforgettable landscapes and some villages like Yanque, Achoma and Maca, these villages have not changed much since the time of the Incas.

In the afternoon we will take the tourist bus to the city of Puno, where we will spend the night.

DAY 6: Uros Island

PUNO-UROS ISLAND AND AMANTANI ISLAND (4,150M):

This day we will visit Lake Titicaca and its islands by boat, the excursion begins with the floating islands of the Uros, famous for its peculiar way of life, in this Aymara people build their houses on large reed rafts and moored by stakes that do not allow the islands to drift, the people who inhabit these islands live from fishing, crafts, hunting and collecting eggs that are sold in the city of Puno.

The tour continues to the island of Amantani, where we can take a short walk along the trails of the island. There we can also climb to Pachatata (4,200M) and from this place we will have spectacular views of the Cordillera Real of Peru-Bolivia and all the natural environment of Lake Titicaca and if the weather permits we will see the sunset over the lake and the surrounding mountains.

DAY 7: Taquile Island

UROS AMANTANI AND TAQUILE ISLAND-PUNO (3,827M):

The next day from the island of Amantani we will depart to Taquile, this island is covered with terraced crops in the style of the Incas, its inhabitants live in a traditional way, a kind of communism where the property is private but the work is collective; About 300 people work in the community one day for themselves and others for the community.

The life of Taquile is self-sufficient and is lived in relation to the Inca principles of “do not steal, do not lie, and do not be idle” customs that have been maintained for centuries.

The top of this island has beautiful views of the lake, the bay of Puno, Bolivia (Cordillera Real), and the Altiplano will be a reward for the efforts to get there. In the afternoon we will return to the city of Puno.

DAY 8: Sun Route

PUNO/CUSCO-THE ROUTE OF THE SUN-CUSCO (3,400M):

You will leave the station to start the bus trip to Cusco, the first stop will be La Raya, the highest point of the road between Cusco and Puno, from where you will have excellent photographic views.

Then you will visit the archaeological complex of Racchi, also known as “The Temple of the God Wiracocha”. You will continue with a visit to Andahuaylillas, where we will visit the church of San Pedro better known as the “Sistine Chapel of America.

“Finally we will arrive to the city of Cusco, transfer and accommodation at the hotel.

DAY 9: City Tour Cusco

CUSCO (3400M)-CITY TOUR CUSCO:

Already in the famous capital of the Incas, after a rich breakfast. We begin with the tour of the city, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, which has paintings of the Cuzqueña school and many treasures of jewelry, silver and precious stones, then we go to the convent of Santo Domingo, Temple of the Sun or Q’oricancha.

The excursion continues outside the city to visit the Inca complexes of Q’enqo and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, strategically built on the top overlooking the city of Cusco. The huge stones on the exterior walls of the complex were carved and joined with precision in a surprising way. Some of these stones exceed 09 feet / 10 height and weigh more than 120 tons. In the evening they will have the option of knowing the city of Cusco with its beautiful and very traditional streets since the Inca times and colonial contrast.

DAY 10: Sacred Valley

CUSCO-SACRED VALLEY (2,850M)-CUSCO:

Today we will travel to the mythical “Sacred Valley of the Incas” to discover the archaeological center of Pisac, then descend to the village to visit the traditional market, where we will have the opportunity to observe the customs of the artisans; then we will have a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba with all the local inputs of the sacred valley to continue with courage to the fortress of Ollantaytambo, a place built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the indigenous peoples of the jungle.

We take a walk through the streets of the town that have preserved the traces of the ancient military, religious and cultural center, from the time of the Inca Empire.

Return to Cusco.

DAY 11: Machupicchu

CUSCO-MACHUPICCHU (2,300M)-CUSCO:

Today will be one of those days where dreams come true:

We will know Machupicchu! We will enjoy incredible landscapes on the way, which will only prepare us for the best experience we are about to live.

Once in Aguas Calientes, we will begin the ascent to the citadel, where you will undoubtedly live one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life!

When we arrive at Machupicchu, you will be able to learn all the history surrounding this mysterious place, where you will be able to take impressive pictures.

At the appointed time, we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes, to enjoy some free time.
Finally, we will board our train back to the city of Cusco and upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 12: Farewell

CUSCO-LIMA (79M)-RETURN HOME:

The last day in the city of Cusco; After breakfast they will have free time to make some souvenir purchases and more, at the agreed time we will transfer them to the airport to board the flight to the city of Lima and the farewell by our entire team.
