Tihuanaco is one of the most important pre-Inca cultures in South America and the ancient archaeological city of the same name is located in Bolivia, 15 kilometers from Lake Titicaca. The Tihuanaca civilization remained alive for more than 25 centuries and the remains of what was the center of it can still be seen. Important sites such as the Sun Gate, Puma Punku, Kalasasaya or the Akapana Pyramid are still preserved. However, perhaps the most striking of the visit to Tihuanaco are its monoliths, which are reminiscent, in a way, to the moais of Easter Island.
